Welcome to Laura Azure Studio
Hello! I'm Laura, an abstract texture artist inspired by the extraordinary colours, light and natural beauty of the Mediterranean.
Much of my inspiration comes from time spent in Ibiza, where turquoise waters, rugged coastlines, sun-bleached landscapes and breathtaking sunsets create an ever-changing palette of colour and texture. It's a place that continually encourages me to slow down, look more closely, and appreciate the quiet beauty found in nature.
Rather than painting recognisable landscapes, I love to create abstract pieces that capture how these places make me feel. Through layers of texture, soft movement and carefully chosen colour, I aim to evoke the calm of the sea, the warmth of the sun and the peaceful escape that so many of us experience when we are by the coast. Some of my happiest moments are spent watching the changing colours of the sea or sky, noticing how light transforms the landscape from one hour to the next. Those fleeting moments often become the starting point for a new painting.
Texture is at the heart of every painting I create. Each canvas is built slowly by hand, layer upon layer, allowing light to interact with the surface so that the artwork subtly changes throughout the day. No two pieces are ever exactly the same, making every original painting entirely unique.
My hope is that each artwork brings more than colour to a room. I want it to create a feeling; a moment of stillness, a memory of warm sea air, or a reminder of somewhere that has touched your heart. Whether you've fallen in love with Ibiza, cherish memories of the Mediterranean, or simply feel drawn to the colours and textures of the coast, I hope my work allows you to reconnect with those emotions every time you see it.
